Generosity

Everything Spring Valley Church does – Sunday services, Kids Club, Bible study, outreach – is paid for by the giving of its own members and friends. Thank you for being part of it.

Why we give

We give because God gave first. Giving is part of our worship, not a fee for a service: it is a way of saying that everything we have comes from Him and is His to use. We give willingly, in proportion to what we have, and in secret rather than for show.

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

2 Corinthians 9:7 (ESV)

Give online

We use Stewardship, a UK Christian charity, to receive gifts safely by card or bank transfer. You can give once or set up a regular gift, and add Gift Aid in the same step.

You will be taken to stewardship.org.uk. Spring Valley Church does not see your card details.

Gift Aid, in plain words

If you pay UK income tax or capital gains tax, the church can claim back the basic-rate tax on your gift from HMRC. That adds 25p to every £1 you give, at no extra cost to you: a gift of £20 becomes £25 for the church. To allow this you make a short Gift Aid declaration – Stewardship asks for it when you give – confirming that you have paid at least as much tax in the year as all your charities will reclaim. Higher-rate taxpayers can claim the difference on their own tax return.

What your giving supports

Sunday worship

Our Sunday meeting place at 49 High Town Road, Sunday School for the children, and everything that makes a service happen.

Children and families

Kids Club is free for every child in Dunstable and around; VBS runs every summer. Giving pays for the halls, crafts and materials.
